The autumn menu is on the table
Pumpkin, wild mushrooms and the return of the stew. What Lotte is cooking now that the evenings are drawing in.
The first chilly week arrived and the stove has not been off since. The new card went up on Wednesday, and it is the one many of our regulars have been waiting for.
The stoofvlees is back, braised overnight in brown ale with a slice of gingerbread and mustard. It comes with frites, because anything else would cause a riot. Next to it, a waterzooi that takes two days and is worth both of them.
Something new
For the first time we are also starting the meal with beetroot from Lochristi, roasted in its skin and served with goat's curd and hazelnuts. It has already converted one committed carnivore at the bar.
